Dear Blooming Glen Friends,

The church has three reasons to be – to help us love God, to help us love one another and to help us love our neighbors.

Adult Sunday School is the one place where all three of those reasons most clearly come together.  Adult Sunday School invites us, in study, prayer, and reflection, to give God room to reach out to our hearts.  Adult Sunday School is a space for inviting our neighbors to hear about our faith journey in non-threating and humble ways.

At Blooming Glen, Adult Sunday School is also a way we employ to love one another and serve one another when there is need.  Our Adult Formation ministries are primarily places to share our feelings, our joys, and our pain.

But our Adult Formation has taken a hit over the last five years – at least that’s what you tell me.  So, the Elders formed a task force.  Jen Hunsberger, Jon Bergey, Rachelle Kratz and I are at work to discern some new ways forward for Adult Formation.  In the next few weeks, Jen, Jon, and Rachelle are going to reach out to the nine Adult Sunday School classes at Blooming Glen, and are going to ask for some precious time to have a conversation.  They’ve got four questions to ask; the conversation may be longer than that – that’s up to you.  Please welcome their visitation to your class and engage them with warmth.  As the task force learns some things, recommendations will be tested with the Adult Sunday School classes through their contact persons.

We’re just getting this process started.  Please join us, even if you don’t think a thing should change.

Love you, church!
