Outdoor Pavilion Worship Service

Blooming Glen Mennonite Church Worship Regathering Plan

We will begin regathering in person for Sunday worship on June 28, 10 a.m., in our outdoor pavilion and the yards surrounding it.  We will follow CDC guidelines, and have listed important details below.  The service will be shorter and simpler than usual.  We anticipate continuing to meet in the pavilion at 10 a.m. on Sundays for July and August, and any changes in this plan will be announced as we remain flexible and responsive to CDC and local health guidelines.  We respect each person’s personal choice about regathering or staying away from gatherings, and urge grace and patience for all.

- We ask the elderly, anyone who is ill, and anyone who is immune-compromised, to choose not to attend.

-We expect all those that gather to wear masks when inside or at the immediate edge of the pavilion.  Speakers may remove masks when speaking.

-We ask all attendees to maintain distancing at all times and refrain from greeting each other with physical contact.

-There will be hand sanitizer available.  Please sanitize hands when arriving at the pavilion.

- Some pavilion furniture will be set up for socially distanced seating, and we will leave room at the edge of the floor and on the adjacent grass if you’d prefer to bring your own chair for seating.  Only household groupings should sit together.

- Singing will occur with an emphasis on extra safe distancing when it is done.

- Bathrooms will be open.  The kitchen will be closed.  You are welcome to bring your own beverage.

-We will live-stream the pavilion services so you can participate by viewing it at home, and services will be posted on the church website for later viewing.

-In case of inclement weather, we will cancel the pavilion service and hold a Zoom service at 10 a.m. that Sunday.  Such an announcement will be posted on the church website on the preceding Saturday afternoon.  Zoom links will be in the weekly Glen News.

-Ushers will be available to help with seating and other logistics.

-Children’s materials will be available during the service.

-There will be no video screen display or hymnals in the pavilion.  We will sing from memory or provide printed lyrics.  Please bring your bible to follow along with the sermon scripture.

-There will be no concurrent organized Sunday school, though SS classes are encouraged to maintain fellowship and care giving for each other in whatever way works best for each group.
