Let your voice resonate! Join one of three regional hymn sings during the weekend of October 6-8:
- Franconia Mennonite Church, Friday, Oct 6, at 7 p.m.
- Salford Mennonite Church, Sunday morning worship, October 8, at 9 a.m.
- Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, Sunday evening, October 8, at 6:30 p.m.
These three gatherings will offer a glimpse into the work of the Mennonite Worship and Song Committee, as they develop a new hymnal for release in 2020. Committee members Benjamin Bergey and Emily Grimes will lead the singing of your heartsongs, as well as introduce new music being considered for the collection. Benjamin is a doctor of musical arts candidate at James Madison University and director of music at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. Emily was previously Director of Music at Western Mennonite School in Oregon. She now teaches music at Dock Mennonite Academy and attends Salford Mennonite Church. On Friday and Sunday nights, an offering will be received to support the production phase of the new collection. An opportunity to honor a loved one with a line in the hymnal will be presented. Come add your voice in sharing hopes and dreams for a new hymnal as we sing praise to God!
